Weekend Update

Jerrad and I had a great weekend. It was a crazy nonstop weekend but it was one of those memory weekends. We left Saturday morning and stopped first in Cataloochee Valley, NC. It was a brisk 43 degrees in the valley. The fog was jut beginning to lift revealing the massive elk. Yes, I said elk. In 2001, the NPS re-introduced elk to the valley. We saw several bull elk and cow elk. One of the bulls even had horns that towered about 5 feet above his head. Just seeing the beauty and majesty of those creatures and of the valley just reaffirmed the awesomeness and the power of God.

After Cataloochee, we headed to Dollywood for Jerrad’s company picnic. It was gorgeous weather and the crowd was fairly light. It was the end of Dolly’s Bluegrass and Barbecue festival. We enjoyed the music of Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, ate some barbecue, and enjoyed other music around the park.

We then headed in to Gatlinburg to enjoy the scenery there. We stopped in the most beautiful Christian art store called P. Graham Dunn. Everything in the store was so beautiful and timeless. I wanted to buy everything but I couldn’t afford it all. You should really check out this place.

It was a great weekend. I look forward to when we can have another weekend like this!
